Makes excellent coils and a very good value for the dollar. I have wound coils and used them immediately without issues. Longest coil life 3 weeks, shortest 10 days to date. Most exotic coil to date is a pair of 28 gauge twisted with 13 wraps around 3mm post.
Ni200 Too Soft
Posted by Unknown on Aug 01, 2015
I found this to be too soft to work with.
Since then, I read a blog about tempered Ni200 and ordered it. Much better to work with, almost like kanthal.
Disturbingly, while researching Ni200, there seems to be a background opinion that Ni is very carcinogenic in itself. Vague about what temp it oxidizes. Sounds like if you want to get into temp control like I am, it may be wise to investigate further.
First nickel build using this was a success

I ordered this and let it 'steep' for awhile because I kept hearing how nickel is a PIA to use. I shouldn't have. The small spool it comes on is perfect for keeping the wire tamed and, because it's so soft, it winds & snips like a dream. I used an older version of the Coil Master to build a successful .17 ohm coil that worked with no adjusting, pre-burning or tweezing in temp control mode. I just made sure my coils were evenly spaced, tested it on my ohm meter after building, after wicking and after the top cap was put on (because I'm relatively new and paranoid about shorts!) and have been happily vaping it ever since. As a side note, some say juice tastes different with nickel but I did not have that experience with this. Will be using it to rebuild my tank heads instead of ordering five packs.
